More Information About Opal

The date on this wonderful picture of Opal is unknown. Here are some additional things that we know about Opal. On Asa's death certificate, dated 7 Jul 1911, she is listed as Opal Blanchard, and her address is 1029 Missouri St. In 1912, she is listed in the El Paso city directory as Opal Langlois, a cook. Her address was 1001 N. Stanton, El Paso, TX. In 1914, she is still listed as Opal Langlois, a cook, but her address is 1105 N. Oregon, El Paso. Posted by Picasa

I am a Moore/Smithee/Tillson/Wimms line. The Moore's originated in Ill and then to Ark then to Texas. Any connection?

Hi Scott,

Is it the Hodges or Kinne name that caught your eye?

From what I have discovered so far, Opal Hodges comes down through Moores and Prices. I don't know about Ill, but they were in Alabama, Ark. and Miss. Many of the Prices went to Texas. Opals grandmother Mary Elizabeth Price Hodges spent about a year there in 1860 after Opal's grandfather died.

On the Kinne side, My great grandfather James Marshall Kinne moved his family from California to Texas in the late 1800's. My grandfather Clarence had a sister Delora. I think she married an O'Toole. They had a daughter Emerald who married a Smithey.

Thanks for touching base. Let me know if anything rings a bell.
